Country Village Care ranked third in size among Brazoria County nursing homes in early 2026

Country Village Care was the third largest nursing home in Brazoria County during the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The facility offered 136 beds—20 above the county average during the same period—and served an average of 114.6 residents.

CMS assigned Country Village Care an overall rating of 1 out of 5, lower than the Texas nursing home average of 2.7.

The Colonnades at Reflection Bay was the largest facility in Brazoria County with 180 beds available, while Oasis at Pearland placed second at 138 beds available for the quarter.

By the first quarter of 2026, Country Village Care had incurred $61,425 in two fines and faced two penalties.

Brazoria County was home to two public nursing homes in Texas during this period.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the nation’s older adult population keeps growing while numbers in younger age brackets decline. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and up increased by 13%, while the population under 18 dropped by 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult population in the U.S. has risen sharply from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

Research published in 2021 found that close to half of older adults—about 28 million—could eventually need long-term services and support, and more than a third might need nursing home care at some point.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
