Pearland ISD issued the following announcement.
Coronavirus information: Pearland ISD follows the guidance and expertise of national and local health officials to help protect our students and staff from all communicable diseases.
The District is aware that The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. While there are no reports of this illness in our area, families are encouraged to visit CDC website for more information and travel guidance regarding the Coronavirus.
In accordance with guidance from County Health officials and the CDC, no additional precautions are advised for Pearland ISD and other school districts at this time. Should this change, the district will immediately notify all parties.
