Small businesses in Burleson and around the country have been heavily impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. In an effort to help these businesses bounce back from what has been a tough year, the City of Burleson is launching the BTX Cares Program.
Businesses must apply if they are interested in receiving a grant from the program. Eligible businesses can receive up to $2,000 in assistance. The application must be filled out and sent to the Office of Economic Development at Burleson City Hall.
Businesses that apply to the program will be selected based on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are still available. The city has stressed that it will not accept incomplete submissions. The funds for the program are coming from the federal CARES Act, which mandates that funds be dispersed throughout localities to allow small cities and towns to best decide how to disperse the funds throughout the community.
The funds for the program can go toward reimbursing the cost of interruption of business that have occurred due to the coronavirus and mandated lockdowns and restrictions.
