CITY OF PEARLAND: City of Pearland Issues Food Truck Order

Order

City of Pearland issued the following announcement on April 09.

As the City of Pearland adapts operations and rules to the everchanging environment created by COVID-19, City leaders continually look for opportunities to help the community maintaining safety first and foremost, while encouraging a sense of normalcy and support local businesses.

Yesterday Mayor Tom Reid signed Order TR 6 which expands service availability of food trucks that are currently registered in the City of Pearland to make it easier for these local vendors to serve customers without creating large crowds.

The signed order will allow food trucks to operate on private property, with the owner’s permission, off of public streets that could inhibit traffic or cause other hazards. But trucks must display and require the practice social distancing guidelines, have hand sanitizer for customer use, and there cannot be more than two food trucks at a given location. Moreover, the trucks must serve for pre-orders, even if it is for people who come to the truck and call for the order from the vehicles and then pick up safely.

The order went into effect at 8 p.m. on April 8th and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 30th.
