The Texas General Land Office has approved $178,095 in Hurricane Harvey recovery grants for Danbury.

The funds are granted in an effort to carry out sewer infrastructure improvements to aid the proper functioning of critical wastewater-system and decrease sewage contamination backwater often affiliated with hurricane flooding.

"Hurricane Harvey devastated communities across the Texas Coast," Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush said. "These recovery funds are critical to improving local infrastructure that will protect lives, homes and businesses from future storms. We continue to work with our partners in communities across the region to leverage these resources efficiently and effectively to benefit Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey."

With these funds, the city will restore sanitary sewer lines and replace manholes and covers in various alleyways.

For example, sewer lines between Avenue J and Avenue K and between Avenue K and Avenue L will see line improvements.

Additionally, sewer lines  will see improvements as well. Sewer lines between Novak Road and the alley between Avenue C and Avenue D  will also see improvements.

To see a complete list and to review the approved modifications, residents are invited to go online.
