City of Pearland issued the following announcement.
With the upcoming departure of Deputy City Manager Jon Branson, the City of Pearland City Manager Clay Pearson has promoted two long-tenured and successful leaders from within the City of Pearland organization. Trent Epperson has been named Deputy City Manager and Assistant Chief of Police Ron Fraser will come into the City Manager’s Office as Assistant City Manager.
Epperson has 21 years of municipal experience, 14 of which have been with the City of Pearland. He served as the Assistant City Manager and in that time made significant contributions delivering sustainable infrastructure for the Pearland community while overseeing the Engineering, Capital Projects, and Public Works Departments. With the promotion to Deputy City Manager, Epperson will expand responsibilities to include supporting and overseeing the Parks and Recreation and Information Technology departments.
“Trent has been an invaluable asset for the City of Pearland and I am confident that in his new role he will continue to set the standard for ‘Service the Pearland Way’. Trent has the relationships, the expertise, and the dedication to keep our Pearland city government getting better and better,” said City Manager Clay Pearson.
Fraser comes to the City Manager’s Office with 29 years of experience with the Pearland Police Department, and 22 years as a member of the Command Staff. He has dedicated his career to public safety in the Pearland area, most recently serving as the Incident Commander for the COVID-19 recovery response team. In his new role, Fraser will be responsible for overseeing Police, Fire, Courts, City Secretary, and the Office of Emergency Management.
“It can be challenging when there are position shifts in the City Manager’s Office because of the collaboration required to be successful, which is why Ron Fraser is the perfect fit,” said City Manager Clay Pearson. “He has a proven track record of positive performance in dynamic situations, has the trust and respect of everyone in our organization, and he takes on new challenges with confidence. He is a great fit for our team and will do great things for the City, especially to keep our excellent essential public safety services working together inside and with the community.”
