A resolution for financial assistance has been approved by the Texas Water Development Board for a $3,965,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund for the city of Madisonville.
Madisonville, in Madison County, will be using the loan to help with financial planning, construction, and other costs associated with its wastewater system improvements, according to the Texas Water Newsroom. By using this loan, the city will be able to save approximately $767,000 over the course of the loan's life.
"The assistance approved today will allow the City to complete necessary improvements to its wastewater system, including raising the walls around ground level equipment, replacing a force main, constructing a new lift station, extending sanitary sewer service along Interstate 45, and other system upgrades," the Texas Water Newsroom said.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional water and flood planning, and preparing the state water and flood plans.
"The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects," the Texas Water Newsroom said.
